Tim Mikkelson

Tim Mikkelson is New Zealand's most-capped Sevens player, having competed in over 100 tournaments for the All Blacks Sevens. He made his debut in 2007, and over nearly two decades, he built an extraordinary career, cementing his legacy as a stalwart of the team.
With 103 international tournaments and more than 200 tries, he holds both the most caps and the title of New Zealand's highest try scorer in Sevens rugby. Known for his speed, fitness, leadership, and resilience, Tim became an indispensable part of the All Blacks Sevens lineup.
Throughout his illustrious career, Tim claimed seven World Series titles (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2020, 2023), two Commonwealth Games gold medals (2010, 2018), and an Olympic silver medal (2021). He also played a key role in leading New Zealand to two Rugby World Cup Sevens victories (2013, 2018). In recognition of his exceptional talent, he was named World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year in 2013 and New Zealand Sevens Player of the Year in 2011.
Tim faced a significant challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic and a two-year battle with an Achilles injury, which left him stuck on 99 tournaments for an extended period. Despite these obstacles, he pushed through adversity, demonstrating incredible mental toughness.
