Sian Leonard

Now Head of Global Strategy and Business Development at Tip Top New Zealand, Sian’s first job was at 16 and head of drive-thru at McDonalds Rotorua a role she credits for her ongoing use of the timeless up-sell tactic which she still applies to her multi million dollar combo sales to this day.

But getting here was no easy route. A Mother at 20 and the author of soon to be released ‘The Fail Club’ (in conjunction with Penguin Random House) and Mum of three followed a fast career trajectory in FMCG going from Nestle, Goodman Fielder, L’Oreal and Pharmacy brands to part owner of NZ #1 Heineken bar Garrison Public House then founder and creator of multi award winning kids beverage brand ‘Water Buddies’.

Awarded the NZ Food Awards and NZ Beverage Awards in 2013 for innovation, Sian grew her distribution to tackle childhood obesity to over 3,000 stockists in NZ, Australia and Hong Kong and was an Executive on the NZ Beverage Council before disaster struck.

The rise of the young Mum from Rotorua to the self made multi millionaire Sian’s story isn’t about how she got achieved her success it’s about what happened next.

From married business woman to homeless solo parent Sian candidly shares what it was to discover rock bottom had a whole new basement floor and how she fought shame, depression and failure to rise stronger discovering the most important lesson of all - ‘resilience’.
